EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAY AT GLAD GROUP

In honour of Employee Appreciation Day (4thMarch), we at Glad Group would like to share some of the programs we have in place for our employees. We firmly believe that our people are our greatest asset, and we continuously evolve our business strategy to ensure we cultivate an engaged, satisfied, and productive workforce. By investing in our people, providing clear career paths, and supporting them to feel empowered in the workplace, we have created teams who continually exceed performance expectations.

We have several programs in place to drive a positive workplace culture across our large workforce and these programs focus on four key areas to engage our people.

 

Caring for our employees’ wellbeing

In 2021, we re-launched our Employee Assistance Program(EAP), partnering with Assure Programs, one of the leading mental health and wellbeing providers. All employees now have free access to a confidential quality support 24/7/365 that is completely external to our organisation, including access to four free counselling sessions per year, provided by qualified, experience psychologists.

We are also committed to providing a workplace culture that is driven by our human values of Trust, Respect, Integrity, and Innovation. For this reason, we have ensured we have the right measures in place to eliminate misconduct and non-conformance. Employees who have concerns are encouraged to speak with their managers, however if they are not comfortable with this, we provide a whistleblowing service that allows them to make a report that is entirely independent and anonymous.

 

Communicating with our teams

We reach our employees through several different online mediums to ensure they can see what is happening across the company at any given time and to have their say. These include our company intranet, Central, our reward and recognition platform, TRIIBE, email options, and welfare checks to ensure feedback can be easily provided. All members of the Glad Group family are also welcomed to attend regular company updates virtual meetings. Designed to provide oversight on business outcomes and projects, they provide a forum for everyone to regularly connect with our Senior Leadership team, company mission, and purpose.

We also communicate with our teams via Central, our company intranet and by delivering Glad Insights, our quarterly newsletter. Glad Insights is an important engagement tool that focuses on our business strategy outcomes, the achievements of our people, internal initiatives, employee services, workplace health and safety and promotions.

 

Recognising and rewarding our people

Via TRIIBE, our online employee engagement platform, our employees have access to our Wellbeing Centre, which hosts expert-led content consisting of information and tips for healthy living, to effectively support our organisation’s workforce wellbeing strategy. TRIIBE is also our communication hub, where we share staff recognition stories, company announcements and tips on safety and wellbeing.

We also have a Length of Service Program, acknowledging milestones for all employee that have remained with the company for periods of5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years. These employees have been part of the Glad Family for the longest period and have contributed to the company’s achievements and ongoing success, therefore, appreciating them through length of service awards and recognising them is crucial.

 

Celebrating through events

We deliver a range of employee engagement activities aligned to our corporate objectives and those of our customers. We focus on key industry team building events such as Thank Your Cleaner Day, International Security Officers Day or National Tradesman Day to name a few. We also deliver tailored activity to support mental health, wellbeing, and safety messages. This is delivered directly onsite or online through TRIIBE.

Finally, it may be concluded that we understand we must acknowledge the past to determine the pathway for the future, that is why Glad Group is committed to making changes to a gap that remains to exist.

 Finally, we also provide our staff members with opportunities to be involved in various committees across the business, such as the Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group, the Safety Committee, or the Diversity Committee.

 

Our 2022 actions

To acknowledge the contribution that every employee makes to the success of Glad Group, we have planned virtual gratitude sessions to bring as many of the Glad Family together on this special day. Each session was hosted by a member of the senior leadership team and a special co-host, and we also provided a brunch, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner (whichever was site appropriate) for our teams to thank them for their amazing contribution.
